Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 2026.

This Privacy Policy explains how Open-AU ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you use open-au.com and related services (the "Service").

1. Information We Collect

We may collect the following categories of information.

1.1 Information You Provide

  • Account information: such as your email address, name, or profile details when you create an account
  • User content: such as saved preferences, support messages, and information you choose to submit through the Service
  • Billing-related information: limited billing or subscription information that may be shared with us by our Merchant of Record or billing provider so we can manage access to paid features

Important: We do not collect, store, or process full payment card numbers on our own servers.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you use the Service, we may collect:

  • Usage information: such as pages viewed, features used, and general interaction events
  • Device and log information: such as IP address, browser type, operating system, timestamps, and diagnostic information
  • Cookie and similar technology information: as described in our Cookie Policy

2. How We Use Information

We use personal information to:

  • Create and manage accounts
  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
  • Deliver paid features and manage subscriptions
  • Respond to support requests and service enquiries
  • Detect fraud, misuse, abuse, and security incidents
  • Operate analytics where enabled and lawful
  • Comply with legal, tax, accounting, and regulatory obligations

We do not sell personal information. We do not use personal information for behavioural advertising.

3. Payments and Billing

Open-AU uses Creem or another authorised Merchant of Record or billing provider to process subscriptions, payments, taxes, invoicing, and certain refund functions.

When you subscribe to a paid feature, you may interact directly with the Merchant of Record's checkout or billing systems. The Merchant of Record may collect payment and billing information under its own policies.

We may receive limited information from that provider, such as your email address, subscription status, transaction reference, or billing country, so we can provide access to the relevant paid features.

4. AI Feature Data Processing

If you use AI-assisted features such as Astro, information you submit through those features may be sent to third-party AI providers to generate responses or outputs.

This may include prompt content, profile-related inputs, preferences, and generated outputs.

Please avoid submitting sensitive personal information unless it is necessary for the intended use of the feature.

5. Sharing of Information

We share information only where reasonably necessary to operate the Service or comply with law.

This may include sharing with service providers such as:

  • Creem or another Merchant of Record / billing provider for checkout, subscriptions, invoicing, taxes, and refunds
  • Authentication providers for account access and login security
  • Hosting, database, and infrastructure providers for product operation and storage
  • AI service providers for AI-assisted features
  • Analytics and abuse-prevention providers where used, including Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC. Google Analytics uses cookies to help us analyse how users interact with the Service. For more information on how Google collects and processes data, visit: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services

We may also disclose information:

  • Where required by law, court order, or lawful request
  • To protect our rights, users, or the public
  • In connection with a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or sale of assets, subject to applicable law

6. Legal Bases

Where applicable law requires a legal basis for processing, we may rely on one or more of the following:
